Biography

Shondha - সন্ধ্যা is a french symphonic Metal band founded by Vicky, the drummer, in 2021 in Rouen. Today the band is based in Paris and the journey continues with a lyric singer, a guitarist, a bassist and a composer.

« Shondha » is a Bengali word which means « Dusk », in reference to Vicky's origin.

The inspiration of the band comes mainly from Nightwish and Vision of Atlantis, and also from Epica, Within Temptation, Myrath and many others.

The combination of energy and rage from metal riffs and drumrolls, epicness from orchestrations mixed with the power of the soprano lyric voice creates a whole oneiric universe, which Shondha - সন্ধ্যা uses to bring its listeners through a rich, colorful journey in times and civilisations, covering beauty and joy, but also pain and destruction. As an ode of life and death, hope and despair, light and darkness, the aim is to analyze and examine how humankind developed itself through time and despite obstacles, and how it slightly fell into the trap of greed and impunity, starting to slowly kill the nature that made it.

Even after the brightest or the worst day comes always the dusk. Some say it means the last breath of day before the night comes, as an analogy of life and death ; others might say it is simply a transition between two realities that are day and night. Also, beyond its symbolization, dusk is a beautiful natural phenomenon. In that case, what could be more accurate to represent Shondha - সন্ধ্যা's universe ?

After three years of hard work and struggle, Shondha - সন্ধ্যা is proud to announce the release of its first eponym album on the 5th of april 2024.

The first single and video clip, Queen of the Witches, has released on the 11th of March 2024.

Shondha - সন্ধ্যা is now ready to defend its album and conquer the metal scene.
