This album is about a travel from antic Rome and ancient Greece to middle age, then contemporary times, analyzing development and collapses of human civilisations. Come to the journey with us !
(Time) Some see it only as a physical parameter, the element of an equation that would explain everything. For others, it embodies itself in a ruthless wheel that nothing stops, a clepsydra that none can stop. In any case, time remains a mystery that imposes itself on all human life. It leads us despite our will in the tumult of an unknown river whose waters, at times crystalline or deep, push us into the unknown.
We, clinging to our makeshift raft, tossed by the currents, try to create some tangible thing, want to mark our walk into this world. We also focus on various forms of spiritualities. The notion of humanity must have meaning.
We have created whole civilizations, inspired by tradition but modernity-oriented. We wanted to lay a base and sanctuarize the fireplace while striving for something greater. (Janus)
Some of these civilisations will give birth to unique figures, vector of progress and guarantorof the greatness of mankind. (Socrates)
But if they are born, they also die. Cruel reminder of our mortal condition, Nature can also shatter life and sweep away the most prosperous cities. (Pompeii)
Neverthless, mankind always rises. It marks its walk with creations of mind. If the stone crumbles, ideas remain. In the course of time we move from obscurantism to Light, from the sciences of Nature to the occult. (Queen of the Witches) Providing many legends to History, we mark our footprint. (Excalibur)
Yet fate is not tamed. It plays with human lives and sometimes decides to reverse their course. Thus a people of simple fishermen became a conquering and violent nation. (Land of the North)
From their thirst for conquests rose wars, massacres, colonizations, and disappearance of entire civilizations. However some were wise and respectful of their environment. (Yellowstone)
After the conquest of wealth and land came the conquest of knowledge, the return of science. After the shock of the shattered shields, intellectual jousting should have been the way to go. Many have faced intolerance, obscurantism and ignorance. Yet alone and alone sometimes having lost everything, some have not given up… (Lone Dreamer)
So is man facing the challenge of Time: proud and versatile, gnawed by a devouring Hubris. Today its technology has engulfed, polluted and devastated everything. As a Native American proverb says « Only when the last tree has been cut down, the last fish been caught, and the last stream poisoned, will we realize we cannot eat money. » (Last Tree)
But nothing is lost, Hope is in our hands. We have the power to acknowledge our wrongs, to repair the damage while becoming reasonable. Because when we arrive at the dawn, or Dusk, it will be necessary to ensure that a new beginning, a renewal happens, so that the Omega becomes the Alpha... (Shondha)
